how i got here
if you’d told me 10 years ago that i’d be living in san diego, leading life changing breathwork sessions, and helping people find real, sustainable wellbeing, i would’ve laughed mid-ipa.
for much of my career, i was sprinting up the corporate ladder at google in nyc, mistaking inbox zero for inner peace. my life was all go, no pause—until it took a hard stop. it took a cancer diagnosis in the middle of the pandemic for me to finally slow down and take it easy. i went inward, immersing myself in all things healing.
breathwork was the practice that changed everything. it gave me the clarity to stop outsourcing my worth to work. it helped me learn how to listen to my body. to soften. to fully show up for the life i fought so hard to live.
so in 2023, when the big tech layoffs came, i took the hint and stepped fully into this work. collectively well was born. now, i help people regulate their nervous systems, reclaim their time, and create space for what actually matters—through breath, storytelling, and authentic Self-care.

bio & background
shannon (shey/they) is a breathwork coach, wellness facilitator, writer, and speaker based on kumeyaay land in san diego.
with a decade of experience in corporate recruiting, including a leadership role at google, shannon helps people settle their soul-crushing anxiety through spiritual development to live with less existential dread and more authentic gratitude.
shannon’s work centers on compassion, trauma sensitivity, and radical acceptance through indigenous and ancestral healing practices. she blends breathwork, mindfulness & storytelling for emotional healing, empowerment and ultimately - liberation.
their work is influenced by buddhism, pranayama, and shamanic healing practices. she is a big fan of pema chodron and tara brach - they may be white ladies distilling ancient eastern principles to western audiences but they do it well. she has great reverence and respect for the black queer feminist movement by way of bell hooks, audre lorde, tricia hersey, prentis hemphill and adrienne maree brown. not to mention the research of doctors gabor maté & brene brown. she’s committed to decolonizing her personal & professional practice by unlearning harmful societal conditioning.
shannon specializes in supporting folks navigating burnout recovery, career transitions, and cancer survivorship. through collectively well, shannon creates accessible spaces for personal growth, resilience, and connection.
a passionate storyteller, shannon’s writing has appeared in cosmopolitan, and she formerly co-hosted cancer actually f**ing sucks: the podcast. when not holding space for others, she’s plunging in the pacific or going for a walk and talk on sunset cliffs - living intentionally without taking life too seriously.
