how will i feel after?

everyone's different. some people feel light and clear, some feel tender, some feel tired in a good way. all of it is normal.

the power of this practice isn't in one perfect session, it's in the consistency, and in the way you learn to honor what your body is telling you and let that shape how you show up for your life.

after your session:

  • hydrate and nourish your body, breathwork can move a lot

  • give yourself space to process, without over-processing, you don't have to figure it all out today

  • try to hold off on big decisions right after a session, let things settle first

if you're in san diego, weekly in-person classes at the den (tuesdays) and indie yoga (thursdays) are a way to build that consistency in person. and if you want more sustained, personalized support, 1:1 work with shannon is where the real depth happens.

what is breathwork, really? ::

what is breathwork, really? ::

breathwork is a somatic practice that uses conscious, connected breathing patterns to shift your nervous system state, often accessing emotion, memory, or release that talk therapy alone doesn't reach. it's not meditation (meditation tends to be about stillness and observation; breathwork is active and often moves a lot through the body).

it's normal to shake, cry, laugh, or feel emotional during a session. it's also normal to feel nothing dramatic at all. there's no "right" way to breathe.

sessions are trauma-informed and facilitated by shannon cury, GPBA-certified with 400 hours of trauma-informed breathwork training and a 200-hour trauma-informed yoga certification. this isn't about being "fixed" in one hour, it's about practicing what it feels like to come back to your body, regularly, with other people doing the same.
